Aksos Book Store

Aksos Book Store, established in 2014, is the largest and most famous book store and publisher in Kabul. Aksos Book Store is a cultural branch of Hameedulla Mohammad Alim, Aksos step out to enrich the national culture in the country, to promote book reading, and to establish it in the society so that it could play an important role in the needs of the society as well as in its spiritual structure. It has immensely contributed to the revitalization and promotion of a culture of reading and translating in the country. The book store was also the first to roll out online book sales and delivery services in the country, getting a warm welcome from book lovers and readers. Aksos Book Store has published around 250 titles of books so far, which majority of them are Political and in Psychology. Aksos Book Store has mostly been trying to translate and publish books that can play an important role in the society and political situation as well as to extend and enrich the knowledge of the younger generation. Aksos Book Store’s main branch is daily visited by approximately 500 book lovers and readers, 60 percent of whom are buyers and get their needs fulfilled. 

Aksos Cultural Board

Aksos Book Store came with innovation to evaluate the books that will be printed. The board has expert members who are evaluating the books and once they have been evaluated and checked, the board has the authority to qualify or disqualify the book for printing and publishing. In this evaluation, the key points that are considered are the contents of the book, social effects, and the reading and selling market of it.

Aksos Translating Board

Aksos Book Store has also launched an initiative of standard translation from foreign languages to Pashto for the first time in Afghanistan and is now in full swing. This board has dozens of translating experts and professionals, which are able to carry out an immense load of work in a really short time span with standard results. Finally, once the translation of a book is completed, it will be reviewed and checked once again by the Cultural Board, and Cultural Board has the authority to refuse or accept the translation and proceed for printing.

The board has recently translated multiple books of the day and is getting a warm welcome from book lovers.

This has helped the Pashto language to be a step ahead of other competitor languages and does not rely on them. 

Online Shopping and Delivery

Most of the time overbusies and lack of time causes to lose some real important opportunities, but Aksos Book Store has got a solution for this and that is Delivery Services in Kabul city and Aksos Book Store might be the first that offers delivery services in Kabul. Aksos Book Store is now delivering books to customers’ home, office or school just with a delivery fee of 30Afs about (US$0.35) to all around the Kabul city and for this, they are using motorcycles. In order for customers to use these services, customers can order through mobile and phone numbers, email address, website, Facebook Page, Instagram, Twitter, Skype, and WhatsApp. The moment a customer is ordering a book, the customer has to leave their exact mobile number, name, and home, office, or school address.
